The exhibition "Hydro - Faith in the Time of Thirst" opens on Friday, October 18, 2024, with a preview at 7:00 PM, within the ancient walls of our Paleochristian Baptistery.

Ten artists are invited to explore the meaning of water, both historically and today, drawing inspiration from this ancient site with the creation of ten site-specific works.

The artists exhibiting their works will be:

Antonio Carotenuto, Cristina Cianci, Mario Ciaramella, Max Coppeta, Ugo Cordasco, Anna Crescenzi, Giovanni Cuofano, Eliana Petrizzi, Ernesto Terlizzi, and Luigi Vollaro, who have been in dialogue with the exhibition curator, art critic Michelangelo Giovinale, for months.

The event is organized by the Nuceria Archaeological Group, with the patronage of our Parish of Santa Maria Maggiore, which is hosting the exhibition in the splendid baptistery.

The event is also sponsored by the Campania Region, the Province of Salerno, the Municipality of Nocera Superiore, the Diocesan Office of Ecclesiastical Heritage and Religious Buildings, and the San Prisco Museum.
