A year of particular grace comes to a close for our Baptistery, chosen as a Jubilee Church in this Holy Year 2025. An ancient and ever-lively place that has helped many faithful rediscover their baptismal faith and experience a renewed rebirth in Christ.

Some data, collected thanks to the census of visits conducted by our parish volunteers, tell the story of the richness of this journey:

  • 2,323 total visitors recorded during the Jubilee Year

  • 883 individual visitors and tourists

  • 138 visitors from foreign countries, including Germany, France, the United States, Spain, Mexico, Lithuania, and the United Kingdom

  • 24 parish or ecclesial group pilgrimages, for a total of 1,440 “Pilgrims of Hope”, mainly coming from the Dioceses of Nocera-Sarno, Sorrento-Castellammare, Naples, Salerno, Cava-Amalfi, Potenza, Aversa, and Acerra

The Baptistery is reborn, not only as a tourist destination but above all as a place of spirituality, prayer, and encounter with the Lord.

A sincere thank you goes to all those who love this place and help to enhance it:
to the Nuceria Archaeological Group and its valuable volunteers;
to the National Association of Carabinieri;
to the Archeoclub of Italy – Nuceria Alfaterna;
to the Pro Loco Urbs Nuceria;
to the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape of Salerno and Avellino, which funded the ongoing restoration of the frescoes.

Special thanks to Mons. Giuseppe Giudice for choosing the Baptistery as the Jubilee Church and for honoring us by allowing us to represent our Diocese and our city in the nativity scene currently displayed in St. Peter’s Square.

Thanks to the parish volunteers who care for the Baptistery, manage its reception and upkeep, and dedicate themselves with sacrifice and discretion to all its needs.
Thanks to the many friends, both residents of Nocera Superiore and others, who love this place and dream of seeing it shine as it deserves.

Thanks also to the Municipal Administration and the entire City Council for the attention given to this extraordinary monument, a precious asset for the whole city and its most recognized symbol.

There is still much to be done, we are aware, but the path taken is the right one: the synergy between institutions, associations, and individuals, to be sought and strengthened more and more.

We thank the Lord for so much grace and, with pride and a sense of responsibility, we are ready to inaugurate a new year during which, we are certain, there will be more gifts from Heaven.
May everything always be for the greater glory of God.
